BEHAVIOUR POLICY…..

We believe in promoting positive behaviour and encourage consideration for others, our surroundings and property.

If a child displays unacceptable behaviour, we will explain to them why their behaviour is unacceptable and we will let the child know that it is the behaviour we are rejecting not them. If necessary, we divert their attention to an alternative activity.

Continuous unacceptable behaviour will be discussed with the child's keyworker and parents to ensure a consistent approach between home and nursery in resolving such behaviour.

No child will ever be physically punished or roughly treated.

SPECIAL NEEDS POLICY…..

For children with special education needs, either on entry or recognised during their time with us, we involve the parents, keyworker and Nursery Manager to assess the child's needs and assist in their development.

Our building is specially designed to provide access by disabled persons.

ILLNESS POLICY…..

For the safety and well-being of all our children and staff, the nursery operates an exclusion policy for infectious diseases. A copy of this is available upon joining the nursery.

If your child becomes ill during a nursery session, we will contact you or the emergency contact stipulated by you.

We will administer paracetamol suspension or prescribed medicine upon receipt of signed instructions from the parent/guardian.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES…..

We value each child as an individual, regardless of race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, disability, gender or religion.

The equipment, activities and play opportunities of the nursery are organised to reflect this policy. A full copy of our policy is available upon request.

ADMISSIONS POLICY…..

To register your child for a nursery place, simply complete and return the enclosed registration form along with the registration fee.

Our Neighbourhood Nursery places are offered within the following wards of Dunstable: Central, Northfields & Priory. The remaining places are open to all.

All places, whether Neighbourhood Nursery or not, are offered on a first come first served basis & we will inform you of your place on the waiting list should we be unable to offer you an immediate start date.

The only priority for nursery places is given to children already attending who wish to increase their sessions, siblings & requests for a full time place.

All places are offered subject to our Standard Terms & Conditions, a copy of which is available on this website.
